Radio Rookies tells story of people who are struggling with their life, through Radio Rookies they express out their feeling out and tell the public how they feel and how they want things to be change. The story of American Heaven is about a young immigrant girl from Congo,telling a story of their family moving over to American, but things are not the way they expected for. Danielle moved to New York when she was 13. leaving her mother back in Congo, she came with her dad, stepmother, sisters. Later on, her dad left them with their stepmother, and Danielle start living in shelter. Life became a living hell for Danielle.

What is significant about this story is that Danielle have to lie to her mom, who is in Congo, about how everything is going fine in America with them, which is really the opposite. Danielle doesn't know families far away in hometown to worry about them. We can say that Danielle is grown up girl and she's tough. I learned from Danielle's story that money don't grow on trees, we have to work our way to earn the money.

I don't think Danielle felt compelled to tell her story. If she truly does, then why would she tell her story on the radio? By doing so, Danielle is willing to tell her story to the public and to encourage all the people out there who are having a problem, telling to always be brave, and have faith. What stuck out to me the most is when Danielle found a true friends who is willing to accept who Danielle is, and said she will always be there for Danielle when she needs help. That is what a true friend does. I'm glad Danielle accepts who herself is.
